Americans honored for WWII heroism at Holocaust ceremony

Chabad to host festival
      Chabad of the Conejo will host a Lag B'omer Family Festival from 4 to 8 p.m. Sun., May 6 at 30345 Canwood St., Agoura Hills. The event will include a barbecue, a concert by Joey Aaron, a children's show and short films. Lag B'omer celebrates Jewish pride and identity, according to event organizers, and this year's festival will focus on 350 years of Jewish life in the United States.

St. Max haan angel
      A local resident gave $725,000 to St. Maximilian Kolbe Catholic Church in Westlake Village to pay off a large portion of the congregation's construction debt, announced the Rev. Patrick O'Dwyer after Easter masses earlier this month. "The donor wishes to remain anonymous," O'Dwyer said in a statement.
