Although Oak Park administrators may not recognize them as a team belonging to the high school just yet, others in the area are starting to see Oak Park's lacrosse club as the region's best. While the team is trying to qualify for CIF status, Oak Park is currently ranked No. 1 in the California State Club Division and No. 4 overall in California with a record of 9-0. More ... With a 90 record and an average winning score of 13-3, the lacrosse club at Oak Park High may have its biggest battle this season off the field. The Oak Park team is currently a part of the Southern California Lacrosse Association, but isn't affiliated with the CIF or Oak Park High School. More ... After winning the Marmonte League championships last year, the boys' and girls' swim teams at Westlake High have shown no signs of slowing down in 2007. The Warriors girls' team currently sits atop the league standings with a record of 5-0, while the boys' squad is 4-1, trailing only Thousand Oaks. More ... The Marmonte League baseball season has reached its midway point. At 6-1 in league play, reigning champion Newbury Park sits atop the Marmonte standings, but only by the slimmest of margins. Thousand Oaks and Simi Valley are both 5-1-1 in league and each team still has a legitimate shot at the title. More ... One did it by land, the other by air. On Saturday night at the Arcadia Invitational, Westlake High's Cory Primm and Agoura's Derek Johnson both put themselves into the national track and field record books- although by somewhat different means.
