Area is entertainment hotbed
Who says nothing ever happens in the sleepy suburbs? Truth is, ours is the place to be for amateur and professional performers, meaning locals rarely have to drive far looking for Friday or Saturday night fun. At the same time the ninth annual Method Fest film festival was wrapping in Calabasas, Heart founders, sisters Nancy and Ann Wilson, treated a sold-out audience on April 6 at The Canyon club to a roster of hits from the 1970s. The Canyon, a favorite venue for baby boomer rock 'n' roll bands, will welcome Al Green, Leon Russell, Toto and Boz Scaggs over the summer.
