White Oak schedules Bike-to-School Day

Students from White Oak Elementary School in Westlake Village will participate in the inaugural Westlake Village BiketoSchool Day on Wed., April 18.

Students and their parents will meet at the former Westlake Village Hospital parking lot at 7:30 a.m. and join Mayor Sue McSweeney and Principal Abbe Irshay on a two-mile ride to the school.

Deputies from the Lost Hills Sheriff's Station will escort the riders as they travel down Agoura and Lindero Canyon roads before turning onto Baronsgate Road and on to school.

BiketoSchool Day was created to serve as training for the upcoming Dole "Ride for the Schools" kids race, part of the second annual Conquer the Canyons Westlake Village Stage Race taking place in Westlake Village on April 21. Proceeds from the kids race will benefit White Oak Elementary School.
