Relay For Life paints the town purple
     IRIS SMOOT/Acorn Newspapers SHOW OF SUPPORT- In preparation for the 2007 Relay for Life 24-hour walkathon, Agoura relay teams decorate the Agoura Hills City Hall, above, and also the city's recreation center with banners, signs and splashes of purple on March 31. The community is encouraged to display signs and decorate houses in purple. The relay is April 28 and 29 at Willow Elementary School.

      Westlake Village-based Khanna Institute has opened the Khanna Institute of LASIK- Valencia, a LASIK and refractive surgery center in West Valencia. Ophthalmologist Dr. Rajesh Khanna said he wanted to make expert eye care more available to serve the people of the Bakersfield and Santa Clarita regions.

Footnote to podiatrist's Honduras visit

      I am back from my annual January trek to Honduras with a team that performs clubfoot surgery on local children. We performed 30 surgeries during the visit. The venture is sponsored by the Rotary Clubs of Westlake Village Sunrise and of Agoura Hills/Oak Park and is paid for with the proceeds from a car raffle.
