Scout receives heroism award for real life rescue
      Kurtis C. Freedland, 14, of Hidden Hills, was awarded the Boy Scouts of America Heroism Award at a Boy Scout National Court of Honor. Ross Harrop, executive of the Western Los Angeles County Council, presented the award after describing Kurtis' heroic efforts in saving the life of one of his friends.

YMCA to offer sports for itty bitty kids
      The Triunfo YMCA, serving Westlake Village, Agoura Hills and Oak Park, will offer "Itty-Bitty" spring sports league for boys and girls ages 3, 4 and prekindergartners. Sign-ups for players and coaches are underway. The season begins April 17 and runs for six weeks at Sumac Park, 6050 N. Calmfield Drive in Agoura Hills. League participants meet twice a week.
