Eruv was good foJewish communit

I have read the article in The Acorn about the eruv, and I am very displeased about what has happened. The eruv is a wire going around the communities of Oak Park and Agoura. This wire is to enclose the community so that you could carry or do other daily activities within the eruv. The eruv was a great idea, and it was a great thing to put it up in the Jewish communities of Oak Park and Agoura.

I disagree that you should have let the people who wanted the eruv down take it away. When I read the article on the eruv I was very happy to know that people are caring about the Jewish communities. Then a couple weeks later I read that they're taking it down because it doesn't look so good and two birds flew into it.

I think that you should try to put the eruv up again and get a permit from the county so it stays for good this time. It makes me very unhappy that some people would fight so strongly against the eruv for no good reason except that it looks a little weird having a clear wire from light post to light post.

Eruvs are not uncommon. There are many in Los Angeles and in other major cities. So everyone in Agoura and Oak Park should have fought harder to save theirs. Guy Havive Student, L.A. Hebrew High School
