Rotary Club to hear speakers next month The Rotary Club of Calabasas/Agoura Hills will host the following guest speakers during their April meetings. The club hosts luncheon meetings every Thursday at 12:10 p.m. at the Native Café, 23536 Calabasas Road, Calabasas. The public is welcome. For information about any meeting, call (818) 888-0138. Terilyn Finders will discuss "Autism and the Public Schools" on April 5. Finders is the president of the Las Virgenes Unified School District board and was recently appointed to a task force on education and professional development under California's Legislative Blue Ribbon Commission on Autism. She will share her views on the deliverance of quality special education programs and services. Retired Lt. Col. Betty Jane Williams will be the speaker on April 12. Williams, a World War II pilot, was inducted into the Women Airforce Service Pilots Pioneer Hall of Fame last year. The topic on April 19 is Engineers Without Borders. Alex Jon and his colleagues will report on their progress with a water distribution and purification project in Honduras. The USC Chapter of Engineers Without Borders partners with communities to improve their quality of life through sustainable engineering projects. On May 10, Tim Wilbur will talk about "Energy Investing- Is It for You?" Wilbur, founder of Ardent Income Consulting, will share the story of his neighbor's great-grandfather's business. |
