Kids have a right to play outdoors
I am one of the residents mentioned in the recent Acorn HOA rules article and would like to reply to one the letters of last week. The original rules of 1980 stated that "every owner of a lot shall have a right and easement of ingress and egress and enjoyment in and to the common areas.

HOA rules can be changed
People speak of homeowner association rules and CC&Rs as if they are permanent, immutable and unchangeable, handed down on stone tablets from heaven to stand for all time. They are not.

Kudos to Agoura High music department
Congratulations to Agoura High School's music directors Mr. John Mosely and Mr. Chad Bloom and to their "Essentially Ellington" and "A" Jazz Bands for their selection as two of 15 national finalists (out of 88 applicants) in the 2007 Essentially Ellington High School Jazz Competition in New York

Schillinger shouldn't advise on autism
I have read The Acorn article surrounding the appointment of Ms. Mary Schillinger to the state Autism Advisory Committee and can't help but see the irony. Calabasas 'stepchild' speaks out
In spite of The Acorn's apparent distortion of Calabasas election results, in which the reporter attempted to indicate a 70 percent approval rating for the incumbents by summing their results (which is actually just adding the same person more than once), the actual numbers speak of a city divided.

Mountains give way to developers
Dear Emily and Ilsa Beulow: Your wonderful letter (March 8) brought back many memories. The unchangeable fact of these mountains is perpetual change.

Thanks for fighting cellphone tower
Kudos to Sol Zide for a very effective presentation to the Calabasas Planning Commission opposing the construction of a cellphone tower on the cor ner of Paul Revere and Bon Homme. Sol filed an appeal and then organized an ambitious and insightful campaign, communicating with city officials, sending out more than 1,500 mailers and going doortodoor to make everyone aware of the issues.

Message for the 'Midnight Walker'
I am writing this letter in hopes of reaching someone I have deemed "The Midnight Walker." "The Midnight Walker" enjoys wearing sweat pants and a hooded sweat shirt and walking his black lab without a leash throughout the Bellagio anytime between 11:30 p.m. to 1:30 a.m.
