Gypsy Players are back with new murder mystery The Gypsy Players are opening their 2007 season of unique dinner theatre entertainment in Ventura County with a comedy murder mystery spoof, "The Last Cruise of the S.S. Minnow," written for the company by local playwright John Logue. The cost of $45 includes an Italian brunch, complimentary champagne, the show and wait staff gratuities. A special "Treat Mom to Dinner and Murder" performance will be at 7:30 p.m. Sat., May 12 at the La Quinta Inn and Suites in Thousand Oaks. Tickets for the Thousand Oaks performance are $59.95. The show takes place on a cruise ship, S.S. Minnow II, years after the passengers and crew of the original S.S. Minnow were rescued. Someone is out for revenge and will stop at nothing- not even murder- to get it. During this interactive show the action takes place all around. An actor may be seated at the table, the guests may be suspects and everyone has the opportunity to solve the crime. The sleuth coming closest to solving the crime will receive a prize at the end of the evening. Shows run about 2½ hours and reservations are required. Show content may not be suitable for children.
