Don't rock the HOA boat
      I would very much like to reply to your article, "HOA rules come under attack" (March 8) by Sophia Fischer. "Oak Park is known as a family oriented community"- where is this written in the law? My wife and I moved to Oak Park in 1983. We chose a new development with similar CC&Rs as described in your article.

Negative campaigning backfired
      The voters have spoken. All the lies and character assassination tactics used against Barry Groveman did not work. Last minute negative campaign mailings leave the person being attacked with no time to respond to false charges. This tactic may be effective in a race where the candidate is not personally known by the constituents.

Way to go, voter
      The voters are to be commended for rejecting the dirtiest campaign in Calabasas history. Toby Keeler and the anonymous committees that backed his candidacy ran a campaign marked by hypocrisy, deceit and mud slinging.

Heschel School will snarl traffic
      I share Larry Brown's concerns about the proposed site of the Heschel School in an equestrian residential zone. The traffic through Old Agoura is already horrible with people driving through it from Chesebro to avoid Kanan. It is even worse before and after classes at Agoura High or when the campus hosts special events.

Issues in Iraq war are complex
      I am writing in response to Lloyd Carter's paranoid and simplistic view about the war in Iraq and Islam. (Letter to the editor, March 8). If I recall, the slaughter between Sunnis and Shiite and the increase in terrorism started after the U.S. invasion in Iraq. Voices in the Middle East are not silent about the carnage of innocent human beings. You are just not listening.

      Reading Lloyd Carter's letter of March 8 regarding "Eurabia" was very interesting. I investigated Carter's lead regarding information on "Eurabia" and discovered that Islamic faithful are being asked to stop using world currencies and start using gold dinars.

A final word on the HOAs
      The Westlake Ranch Property Owners Association and the Euclid Management Co. let down the citizens of Westlake Village . . . again! The annual meeting of the HOA was held Feb.20 to elect a new board of directors. But surprise, surprise, few showed other than the board members, the owner and staff of Euclid Management Co., and a few hapless members like myself.
