Local leader participates in Federal Relations Network

Jan Iceland, a member of the Oak Park Unified school board and the California School Boards Association, participated in the 2007 Federal Relations Network conference which took place Jan. 28-30 in Washington, D.C.

The network involves local school board members who are committed to grassroots advocacy for public education to make education a priority of the federal government.

This year 's participants discussed the reauthorization of the No Child Left Behind Act, preschool and Head Start programs, teacher requirements and funding for the Elementary and Secondary Education and Individuals with Disabilities acts.
