Latin Jazz Ensemble to perform at Lindero Canyon
      Lindero Canyon Middle School's jazz program just got jazzier with the announcement that Bill Cunliffe and his Latin Jazz Ensemble will perform a benefit concert on Thurs., Feb. 15 on the school campus. Student jazz bads will perform during the first half hour of the show, said Bicky Rippe, an office assistant for the school's music department.

Traditional Irish music coming to Civic Arts Plaza
      Kerry Records will present a show of traditional Irish music, song and dance, "Ireland- St. Patrick's Day- A Celebration," at 2 p.m. Sun., March 4 at the Scherr Theatre, Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza, 2100 E. Thousand Oaks Blvd. Special guests are singers the McCrohan Brothers from Caherciveen, County Kerry, Ireland.

African Children's Choir to perform
      The African Children's Choir will perform at 7 p.m. on Wed., Feb. 14 at Westminster Presbyterian Church, 3211 Watergate Road, Westlake Village. The choir has performed throughout North America and the United Kingdom. Each year a new choir is selected from children who are not only musical, but who also come from some of Africa's most desperate villages.

Class Act to present 'High School Musical'
      Class Act Musical Theatre will present teen performances of "High School Musical" on Fri. and Sat., Feb. 9 and 10 at the theater, 5345 Wilhelmina Ave., Woodland Hills. All shows start at 7 p.m. and tickets cost $12.

House Concerts marks 10 years
      For the past decade, Russ and Julie Paris of Oak Park have removed their living room furniture once a month so that scores of people could come over and enjoy live music. On Sat., Jan. 20, more than 100 music lovers filled the couple's home to mark a milestone- - the 10th anniversary of Russ and Julie's House Concerts. It was the couple's 102nd monthly concert.

Jazz bands to perform
      The Calabasas High School jazz bands will perform their second concert of the year Thurs., Feb. 15. The bands are directed by Josh Barroll and Aaron Kohen. The Calabasas jazz bands have received several awards and honors, including recognition at the Essentially Ellington competition at New York's Lincoln Center and several local venues.

      Renee and Ron Lebow, owners of Native Cafe in Old Town Calabasas, have planned a special Valentine's Day menu with a complimentary glass of champagne for diners who wish to celebrate the holiday at the Zagat Award-winning restaurant. The special menu will be available all evening, with dinner service from 5 to 10 p.m.
