Can't wait for new library
      I was very proud to be part of the Calabasas Civic Center groundbreaking ceremony last Saturday. The community spirit was evident and everyone could feel the warmth of a small town gathering. It was wonderful to see this project come to life.

Teacher raises are appreciated
      I want to commend Oak Park School Superintendent Tony Knight and the members of the Oak Park Board of Education for offering Oak Park teachers a 6.25 percent salary increase. Other local districts are finding creative ways to waste state funds. The leadership of OPUSD recognizes that the best investment in education belongs in the classroom.
