Westlake bomb scare forces evacuation A bomb threat at 2K Games, a video game company in Westlake Village, prompted an early dismissal of employees Tuesday and an investigation by local law enforcement. According to Lost Hills Sheriff Deputy Scott Rule, an anonymous call was received at the firm, located near Lindero Canyon and Agoura Road, between noon and 12:30 p.m. The anonymous caller said a bomb was placed in the office building. 2K officials called Lost Hills deputies, who ordered the building evacuated. “Nothing was found at this time, but it is still being investigated,” Rule said. Sgt. Jim Royal said that after deputies and fire fighters searched the building and didn’t identify any explosives, 2K management chose to close down for the day until the investigation was completed. David Blackwell, an employee at ACS, one of three firms located in the same business complex as 2K Games, said his firm shut down for the day as well. “There were a lot of fire trucks and police cars there and across the street,” he said after he returned from lunch. “We were just told to leave,” Blackwell said. “I ran in and grabbed my iPod and left.” Royal said if an unusual package had been seen at the company, a different tactical procedure would have been followed. |
