Free trees for foundation supporters

Five free crape myrtle trees will be given to each person from California who joins the National Arbor Day Foundation this month. The giveaways are part of the nonprofit foundation’s Trees for America campaign.

“Crape myrtles were selected for this campaign because of their elegant color and form, making them an attractive addition to the home landscape in California,” said John Rosenow, the foundation’s president.

To receive the trees, send a $10 membership contribution to Five Crape Myrtles, National Arbor Day Foundation, 100 Arbor Ave., Nebraska City, NE 68410 by Jan. 31.
