Kids learn about nature

January youth programs will be offered at Mountains Restoration Trust, Headwaters Corner, 23075 Mulholland Hwy., Calabasas.

“Learn What Makes a Mammal a Mammal” will be from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Sat., Jan. 13. Activities include a hike to look for signs of mammals, a guest speaker who will bring live mammals and a related craft.

“Learn All about the Night Sky” will be at 6:30 p.m. Sat., Jan. 27.

With the aid of telescopes and a guest speaker, participants will navigate through the stars, planets, nebulae and constellations. Program also includes an astronomy-related craft.

Both programs are intended for children ages 8 to 12. The fee is $15 per event.
