‘High School Musical’ auditions announced

Stages Performing Arts, Inc. will hold auditions for children ages 7 through 15 for its spring 2007 performance of Disney’s “High School Musical.”

Auditions are scheduled from 4 to 8 p.m. Tues., Jan. 2 and Wed., Jan. 3, at St. Julie’s Church, 2475 Borchard Road in Newbury Park. Audition times will be assigned by Stages. Preregistration is required.

The show will be double cast.

Rehearsals will be Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., Jan. 6 to April 7, 2007.

Show performances are scheduled for Newbury Park High School’s Performing Arts Center at 7 p.m. on Thurs., April 12; Fri., April 13; and Sat., April 14 with an additional 2 p.m. Sat. matinee.

There will an additional rehearsal on Friday, Jan. 5 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., as well as several rehearsals the week of the show.

Previous theater experience is not necessary. Tuition is required to participate in Stages’ spring show. All participants will have a part.
