Charity check

Last year at this time, The Acorn ran an article about an Agoura-based couple who created a nonprofit organization called Charity Checks. They sell Giving Certificates in various denominations that are valid for nearly 1 million U.S. charities recognized as IRS nonprofit groups.

The recipients can then forward these checks to their favorite charities, with 100 percent of the donation going directly to the designated cause.

As many of us are now hunting for gifts and most living in our community have been blessed with abundance, it would be worthwhile to mention this terrific gift-giving option again.

Each contribution can make a difference--for the recipient and the giver. It's a wonderful way to spread the spirit of giving.

Charity Checks may be ordered on the Internet by visiting www.charitychecks.us or by calling Lisa and/or Victor, who perform this service on a volunteer basis, at (818) 706-8686.
