The right move

Last week's editorial was titled "Council member censured," as it should be in my opinion.

Community leader Jim Bruno teamed up with forces outside of our community in making his decision. The Do-It Center, formerly know as Lumber City, had undue influence in our community. I remember when they first came to this area, when there were alternatives such as Robb's Hardware on T.O. Boulevard and another local hardware store in the Westlake Plaza where we could get many items and advice that you cannot find today, either in his stores or the Home Depot.

Was the Lumber City company responsible for putting these small businesses out of business, changing the "quaintness" of our community?

Maybe his failure to see our community over an outsider is the reason for the loss of confidence in his ability to lead our community.

I voted for him, but now plan to vote against his next term for this very reason. I think all Westlake Village residents were ill-served by his alliance with a self-serving outsider and he deserved to be "impugned, and mugged" in spite of the letters of support for his position.
