Bull’s-eye for birdwatchers

The Conejo Valley Audubon Society will sponsor various birding field trips in January.

On Sat., Jan. 6, the group will visit Lake Casitas. Meet at Las Posas park-and-ride at 8 a.m. or at the lake at 8:30 a.m.

Santa Clara River Estuary will be the site of the Sun., Jan. 21 trip. Meet at 8 a.m. at Las Posas park-and-ride or 8:30 a.m. at Surfer’s Knoll parking lot on Spinnaker in Ventura Harbor.

The group will look for shorebirds, ducks, Snowy Plovers, Black-necked Stilts, American Avocets, gulls, grebes and loons.
