Council impugns Bruno’s integrity

I attended the annual reorganization meeting of the Westlake Village City Council on Dec. 6. It has been the city’s tradition that the current mayor pro tem is appointed as mayor. Regretfully, the City Council broke this tradition and Mr. James Bruno did not become mayor as all other mayor pro tems have for 25 years. This decision is unjustifiable and divisive.

Mr. James Bruno is a man of the highest integrity and one of the most respected individuals in our community. There was no reason or explanation provided to the public for this unusual and hasty decision. It is unfair to the residents of Westlake Village to have one of their most honest and dedicated representatives to be penalized for supporting and expressing his constituents’ opinion.

I urge the residents of Westlake Village to support James Bruno, a councilman who truly represents our concerns and views. Farr Ajir Westlake Village
