Standke has served on a volunteer basis as an interpreter for numerous historical organizations and is noted for developing and conducting demonstrations in blacksmithing and cooking.

“The Leonis Adobe Museum is one of the preeminent historical organizations in the Los Angeles area,” said Standke. “With my fellow board members, we will continue to expand the museum’s historical events and promote even greater community involvement.”

“Gary has a gift of turning his love of history into fun for others. He’ll be a terrific addition to help us carry out the ambitious plans we have for the future,” said museum board president Don Adams.
