Recreation programs for winter break
Youth can make movies, play sports, learn crafts

The Agoura Hills/Calabasas Community Center will offer various children’s programs during winter break. The center is at 27040 Malibu Hills Road, Calabasas.

A gift-making boutique from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Fri., Dec. 22 will offer children the opportunity to make gifts for every occasion. Then they will wrap and tag the gifts and take them home. Among the gifts they can make are a beaded jewelry box, hand-dipped candles, stenciled napkins, a memory box, beaded jewelry or a fresh flower centerpiece.

Children should bring a lunch, but morning and afternoon snacks will be provided. The $89 fee includes tuition, snacks and all materials. Call the Razzle Dazzle Kids office at (818) 991-1691 to check on space availability.

A Sports ’n’ More camp is offered in two one-week sessions, Dec. 26 to 29 and Jan. 2 to 5. The camp features a combination of sports, games and arts and crafts. The camp meets 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. inside the facility. The program is $220 per week or $55 a day.

“Lights, Camera, Action” is offered from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Jan. 25. Students will begin by creating an idea for a movie, learn to write and storyboard the idea, and then film the movie. Projects will be professionally edited, and participants will receive a copy of the movie on DVD. The cost is $285.
