Children color for a new world

YOUNG ENVIRONMENTALISTS—The winners of the inaugural recycling coloring contest hosted by the Calabasas Environmental Commission show their artwork. The Calabasas Environmental Commission hosted an award ceremony for its first Recycling Coloring Contest on Tues., Dec. 5.

The commission received 225 entries from kindergarten through eighth grade.Thirteen winners were chosen based on creativity and theme.

The winning drawings will be printed in the 2007 Calabasas Community Recycling Awareness calendar, which will be distributed to every household and business in Calabasas and to participating schools.
