Super day for Eagle football team
      Six months of hard work resulted in a Super Bowl win for the Agoura/Oak Park Eagles. In the Pee Wee Division championship last Saturday at Thousand Oaks High, the Eagles defeated the Santa Clarita Warriors 40-16. The team's players, coaches, parents and fans couldn't have been happier with the result.

      On Dec. 1, exactly three months after Westlake High's football season began with a win at home against Basic High in the regular-season opener, Warrior head coach Jim Benkert finally had to address the media as a losing coach.

Local youth soccer team wins three titles in four weeks
      In early November, the Real So Cal Girls U-16 soccer team from Agoura and Westlake captured the Premier League title of the Coast Soccer League. The Premier League is the highest division that a youth soccer team can compete in.

Calabasas wrestlers put up a fight at Newbury Park Tournament
      NOT FOR LACK OF EFFORT- Calabasas High's Julian Jazayeri, on top, battles Rio Mesa High's Albert Candido during last weekend's Newbury Park Wrestling Tournament. Candido defeated Jazayeri in the 119-pound final. Royal High won the team title, with Thousand Oaks, Simi Valley and Hueneme rounding out the top four spots.

Paul Vargo reaches the pinnacle of CLU intramural dodgeball
      For Paul Vargo, it doesn't get any sweeter than this. The hard work, the dedication, it all paid off during last week's intramural dodgeball championship at the Soiland Recreation Center on the campus of California Lutheran University. "I'm going to Disneyland!" exclaimed Vargo, following his team's 3-1 victory over Patches O'Houlihan in the final.
