Local families give aid to L.A. homeless

THREE BAGS FULL-

Duffy Walton, president of

the nonprofit Green Bags, and Isaac Cohen, a student

in the Oak Park School District, center, shaking

hands, organize

volunteers as they load bags filled with clothing,

toiletries and nonperishable groceries

for the homeless. The

group gathered at Oak Hills Elementary and then

delivered about 250 bags

to men and women living on Skid Row in downtown Los Angeles. "The grateful faces of the recipients were

priceless," said Caroline

Aslanian, who pitched in with her 5-year-old twins,

Andrew and Armand.
