Popular woman went with the 'flo' We were products of different generations, 30 years apart. She tended to be liberal, I more conservative. Yet the few times we talked about issues she was deeply committed to, and we were on opposite sides of the matter, we parted with me feeling good and the situation well in hand. Flo Klein was an outspoken advocate for many organizations in the Calabasas area. Senior citizen quandaries-one would have done well to back off; she was relentless. Flo was responsible for cataloging the historical goings-on in Calabasas, officially acknowledged by the City Council after completing many permanent books of the city's history. Flo and I never socialized, but when we ran across each other at various functions we caught up. Her efforts for the betterment of Calabasas will be enjoyed for many years to come. She influenced many, asked little from most. When she was presenting her view at a council meeting or other forum, she frequently persuaded those in charge to take a second or third look through her eyes. Flo was liberal, yes, but she helped pull me to the center and others to consensus. Donald Lucove Calabasas |
