PRIMED TO PAINT-Participants in the Youth Job Corps Program give the Oak Park High School baseball stadium outfield wall a new coat of paint. Improvements to the Oak Park High School varsity baseball field have begun with the painting of the outfield wall and dugouts.

Youths involved in the Job Corps program, supervised by painting instructor Ralph Kitchell, completed the task of painting the walls and dugout over a period of two weeks. The program is funded through the U.S. Department of Labor and provides an opportunity for challenged young adults to learn a trade.

Other improvements to be made to the field include repairing fences, sprinklers and the outfield grass, and replacing the infield dirt. There are also plans to buy a pitching machine with contributions made by members of the community.
