Pumpkin Run a whole lot of fun
     HOT WHEELS-Participants cheer on pumpkins racing in the fourth annual Pumpkin Run in Malibou Lake on Sunday. The neighborhood event, organized by Matt Moreau, far right, drew about 20 pumpkins and 60 people this year. The annual race requires participants to attach wheels to their pumpkins and race them down a hill.

Club sends well wishes to birthday girl
     SPECIAL CELEBRATION-Members of Students for a Cure, a club at Oak Park High School, made Breanna Pflaumer the center of attention during a visit to her Moorpark home last weekend. Breanna has been battling brain cancer since December 2004. In honor of her 16th birthday, club members created a giant card and attended an open house birthday celebration at the Pflaumer home.

Anti-smoking message will be included in DVD movies
     The Weinstein Co. will be the first motion picture firm to embed antismoking public service announcements in DVD versions of movies that depict smoking, according to Attorney General Bill Lockyer.
