Fall gala benefits foundation

The American Liver Foundation, Greater Los Angeles Chapter, is again hosting "Flavors of the Conejo," an annual event to raise funds and awareness in the fight against liver disease.

The Nov. 12 dinner, titled "2006 Flavors of the Conejo Valley," will be at the Hyatt Westlake Plaza and features the cuisine of some of the area's premier chefs, including Chef Alberto Vazquez of Sherwood Country Club, Chef John Foerster of the Hyatt Westlake Plaza, Chef Tommaso Barletta of Tuscany, Chef Edwin Cruz of Mediterraneo and Chef Neil and Claudine Kramer of Café 14.

Guest speaker at the event will be Christopher Kennedy

Lawford, who's new book, "Symptoms of Withdrawal," provides a rare glimpse into the private world of the Kennedy family and Lawford's own struggle with hepatitis C.

The evening includes a silent auction, exquisite food and wine, and the music of the Scott Oakley Trio. For tickets to attend, or to inquire about sponsorship opportunities, please e-mail Barbara@bjevents.org or call (310) 442-6744.
