Club to explore deep space

The Ventura County Astronomical Society will hold its monthly membership meeting at 7:30 p.m. Fri., Nov. 17 at Vista Elementary School, 2175 Wisteria, Simi Valley. The speaker will be Dr. Marc Rayman from Jet Propulsion Laboratory and will speak on NASA's Deep Space 1 and Dawn missions.

Rayman has a background in astrophysics and space exploration with degrees from Princeton, University of Colorado and the Joint Institute for Laboratory Astrophysics. His presentation, "Flying from the Future to the Past-Adventures in the Solar System," will include information from the Deep Space 1 Mission launched in 1998.
