Local gymnasts advance to sectional meet

The Level 4, 5 and 6 Compulsory Teams at Monarch's National Gymnastics Training Center in Agoura Hills and Newbury Park competed in their final meet on Oct. 7 to qualify for the Southern California Sectionals.

Each gymnast had one last chance to bring her all-around score above a 30 for levels 4 and 6. Level 5 gymnasts needed to have an allaround score of 31.

Gymnasts who met the requirements advanced to sectionals. The sectionals meet will determine which gymnasts will compete in the state meet.

Monarch's announced the team members who will be participating in Southern California Sectionals:

Level 4 team members are Zita Surprenant, Danielle LaCorte, Jesslyn Fernandez, Kaela Hoisch, Allison Brewer, Madeline Schooler, Rilee Kama, Bryn Exstrom, Alexis Ramirez, Natalie Bevilacqua, Katherine Morris and Devon Morris.

Level 5 team members include Kennedi Edney, Nikita Iyer, Pamela Mueller, Elisabeth Epperson, Mikayla Epperson, Amber McDougall and Staci Trousdale. The Level 6 team is composed

of Lauren Alper, Annalee Mueller, Sydnee Stanley, Jillian Stephens and Erin Triplett.
