Sunday's festival brings pumpkin fun
PICK OF THE PATCH-Above, youngsters climb among the pumpkins that are nearly as big as they are, looking for just the right one to bring home to carve. Below, children work on some of the arts and crafts that will be featured at the fest. Look for good food and entertainment, too. The annual Calabasas Pumpkin Festival will be Sun., Oct. 22 at de Anza Park on Lost Hills Road. The Calabasas Pumpkin Festival will take place Sun., Oct. 22 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Juan Bautista De Anza Park, 3701 Lost Hills Road. The annual events is open to the public. Parking, admission and shuttle service are free. Featured at the festival will
be carnival games, inflatable rides, an arts and crafts marketplace, live entertainment, a car show, pumpkin activities, a beer garden and a variety of food. Rides and games range in price from 50 cents to $1. Pumpkins will be available for purchase.
Also at the festival will be a parent-child basketball free throw shooting contest. The grand prize is two sky box seats at a Laker game. Children age division winners will get tickets to a Pepperdine basketball game.
Bands performing include Hollywood U2 and the Hit Squad. A marketplace will feature a variety of seasonal and holiday gift items
