Genealogical society meets

The Ventura County Genealogical Society Inc. will host its annual seminar from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sat., Oct. 21 at the Ventura LDS Family History Center, 3501 Loma Vista Road in Ventura.

The seminar features handouts, a syllabus, exhibits, door prizes, and new and used genealogy books for sale.

The guest speaker is Alan E. Mann discussing new trends and technologies in family history, Internet surname searches, online geography for genealogists and English research on the Internet.

Mann is an accredited genealogist researcher specializing in England, Australia and the Channel Islands. He has given lectures and done geneology research for more than 20 years.

The cost is $35 for members and $40 for nonmembers.
