The roots of vandalism

I want to comment on the vandalism and crimes in Oak Park and crimes in general. If it is teenagers or young people committing these crimes then I blame the media. Particularly the music and movie industry. I see rap music as having a strong influence on young people nowadays. These rappers glorify violence, gangs, shootings and corrupt values as seen in their trashy music videos and shows on MTV, MTV2, VH1, FUSE, IMF and BET.

Most of these rappers are uneducated high school dropouts with no future so all they want to do is make it big as music entertainers. Their music videos all glorify multimillion dollar mansions, expensive cars, violence and degrading women as dancers in filthy trashy clothing.

With that said, our young people see this and want to copy them as much as possible with hip-hop clothing, gangs, tagging, vandalism, crime and shootings.

The same thing with Hollywood movies that glorify violence and crimes.

We all know who owns the entertainment industry in America. All they want is money and greed, they will sign anyone who can make them multimillions even if they are gangsters and criminals.

Enough is enough, the entertainment industry should not be greedy and stop signing these trash gangster rappers and concentrate on signing artists who will keep music clean. I guarantee you that young people can name 10 rappers, but not 10 scientists, philosophers or 10 world leaders. It is sad but true.

Before I sign off, I may have come across negatively but I have nothing against any race. I'm propeace and anti-gun and hope we can all live in harmony one day. AJ Joehar Agoura Hills
