Chamber singers, orchestra to perform

The Oaks Chamber Singers, together with the Royal Oaks Chamber Orchestra, will present the celestial Rutter Requiem at 8:15 p.m. Sat., Nov. 18 in the sanctuary of St. Paschal Baylon Church, 155 E. Janss Road, Thousand Oaks.

Since 1996 the Oaks Chamber Singers have performed more than 40 concerts of both secular and sacred music in the Conejo Valley, at the Music Academy of the West and at the Mission Church in Santa Barbara. They've been hailed as a unique ensemble of 29 auditioned singers and this year received the Excellence in the Arts 2006 Award from the Thousand Oaks Arts Commission.

Also performing will be Kyung Tae Kim, baritone and Julianne Tillinghast, who will be joined by clarinetist Darryl Tanikawa and pianist Soon Seop Kim. The program is directed by Annette Murphy.
