Teen named YMCA employee of the year
Daniel Kaufman Daniel Kaufman, a 2006 Agoura High School graduate, was named the Triunfo YMCA Employee of the Year for 20052006 by the YMCA staff.
Kaufman, 18, began his YMCA connection as a YMCA camper. He attended residence camp and later became a camp counselor where he's excelled for the past three summers.
"The award is presented to that special employee who exhibits the enthusiasm and caring personality that the YMCA looks for to promote its motto, 'building strong kids, strong families and strong communities,'" said Ronnie Stone, executive director of the Triunfo YMCA. "Daniel exhibits those positive traits and more."
Kaufman is working as a teacher's aid at the YMCA childcare program at Sumac Elementary School in Agoura Hills. He's spent 10 of his 18 years involved in YMCA programs.
"We've watched Daniel grow into a fine young man," Stone said. "His excellent attitude and energy have made a positive impact on many young campers and childcare participants."
