Triunfo tale I attended my first Triunfo Sanitation District Board meeting on Sept. 18 with a friend. I live in Thousand Oaks, and was very surprised by the behavior of my city councilman, Dennis Gillettewho sits on the board. Mr. Gillette announced at the start of the meeting that his time was limited because he had an importanmeeting to go to. Prior to leavinghe seemed uncomfortable, even agi- tated, with some questions from Ventura County Supervisor Linda Parks about an audit of the districtDuring the discussion between the two, I saw that Mrs. Parks con- ducted herself in a very professionamanner. Mr. Gillette then went on to say how things on the Triunfo board have never been the same since something happened four years ago, withousaying what that something was. I wonder if he meant when Supervi- sor Parks joined the board? Shortly after, he picked up his things and walked out. He did not ask the chair to be excused or apologize. He did not leave in a polite way, but like someone who was quite angry. To me, his actions were very un- professional. Is this how Mr. Gillette acts when he is not being videotaped at a Thousand Oaks City Council meeting? After attending this meeting, I am not voting for Dennis Gillette for T.O. City Council. He did not rep- resent my city very well at this board meeting. Manuel Cuizon Thousand Oaks |
