No fine dining at Lowe's

I was so happy to see that Councilmember Jim Bruno and Mayor Sue McSweeny know what the citizens of Westlake want vs. Councilmember Klessig. Let's face it, Klessig supports Lowe's. Shame on her for deceiving everyone by calling it a Town Center. Call it what it is- a Lowe's. There are no "fine dining restaurants or shops."

I went to Lowe's West Hills store and saw a Red Barn Feed, Quiznos, Szechuwan Gardens and a hot dog stand in front. There was no "fine dining or shops" at this center.

Then I went to their new store in Northridge that has only been open about a month. There were no pretty artist-rendered trees; what was there were small, almost dead, stick trees and dead pompus grass in the planters. I'll bet they were showed lovely drawing also.

No fine dining there either.

I found more of the same at their Simi Valley store, a gargan- tuan Lowe's, an Islands Restau- rant, Johnny Romanos, and a sea of asphalt.

We need to think of the small business that will go out. My heart goes out to Dan Smith. He is cor- rect: there is no room in our small village for big boxes. If Lowe's comes in they will destroy all the small businesses and then raise their prices, just like Wal-Mart is doing. One only needs to Google "Lowe's to settle class-action law- suit" to see how they operate. The only losers will be our community.

We do have a choice.

We can save our village and vote no on Measure Z. Go to: www.savewestlakevillage.com and see the facts. Lowe's is the outsider and all they care about is themselves and not Westlake Vil- lage. Charyl Tabbi Westlake Village
