Hear talk about alternative energy

Tam Hunt, energy program di- rector of the Community Environ- mental Council, will be a guest lec- turer at the 7 to 8:30 p.m. Tues., Oct. 24 meeting of Global Exchange Ventura County at the Grant Brimhall/Thousand Oaks Library, 1401 E. Janss Road, Thousand Oaks.

Hunt, who is a lawyer, runs the "Fossil Free by '33" cam- paign which hopes to wean the tri-county region from fossil fu- els by 2033.

Hunt plans to discuss the fol- lowing: 1. Current energy use in the tri-counties (electricity, natu- ral gas and petroleum), with dis- cussion of where this energy comes from; 2. What the council hopes to achieve with its "Fossil Free by '33" program; 3. Vari- ous renewable energy technolo- gies and energy efficiency; and 4. Why the council dislikes liquified natural gas and nuclear energy.
