2006 Acorn on Vacation Winner!

VIEW FROM THE TOP-Mike Steffen of Calabasas celebrates from the summit of 19,335-foot Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania. Mike, a 15-year-old Calabasas High School student, is joined by climbing partner Carl Ovsapyan, left. Kudos to Mike for packing his Acorn newspaper all the way to the top of the snow-tipped volcano. We know every ounce counts when you're climbing and we're honored to have come along for the ride. Mike's photo grabbed first place in this year's "Take Your Acorn on Vacation" photo contest, and the $100 top prize. Turn to page 30A to see the other winning photos.
