Saddened to hear about Millie Andress

My family and I were saddened to hear of the passing of Millie Andress. Millie was a very special person as we were able to see firsthand. We had the pleasure of knowing Millie for only three short years, but that was plenty of time to see what a special person she really was.

One of our children was having problems his freshman year- bad grades, bad behavior, etc. We enrolled him at Oak View High where Millie was the principalAfter one week at school my child came home and told us of this terrific woman that was his principal at his school. For my child to say there was anybody terrific in any administration was a shock.

We then attended open house and met Millie for the firs time. We were impressed with the way all the kids communicated with her and the way she communicated with themThen came report cards-straight As, another shock for us.

We started to see quite a change in our child such as always ready for school on time, communicating with us a lot more and just a brighter outlook on life. Since then our child has carried a 3.5 to 4.0 grade average. He will be graduating early this year and has already been accepted and enrolled in college. In many ways Millie and her wonderful staff are the reason for all this.

We just wanted to let everyone know what a special person she was and to thank her for everything she did for everyone while she was here. Rest in peace, Millie. Rick Mabery Agoura Hills
