Vote for Measure Z

As a longtime member of the Westlake Village community, I have confidence in my neighbors' ability to discern between fact and fiction. I recently received a discouraging piece of fiction in my mailbox from a group that opposes the Town Center at Westlake.

This group remains disillusioned, clinging to the belief that if we ignore the Town Center and let the development agreement expire next year, somehow a field of dreams will spring up from the development site. The truth is that if we do not support Measure Z, then developers will build an office complex.

Ask yourself what business is behind this opposition? Our world is made up of competition. Measure Z would certainly bring considerably more revenue to Westlake Village than just another office building.

Measure Z stops the influx of offices to Westlake Village. It ensures that we won't deal with rush hour traffic at the Lindero Canyon Road intersection and brings much-needed shopping and dining options.

On the Internet, visit www.TownCenterWLV.com to find out more, or the city's website to read the initiative.

Do not buy into the opposition's field of dreams. Please support Measure Z on Nov. 7. Don Meyer Westlake Village
