David Murdock to host Ride On benefit at Ventura Farms

David Murdock will host a fundraiser at Ventura Farms in Thousand Oaks on Sat., Sept. 16 to benefit Ride On, an organization that teaches therapeutic horseback riding to children and adults with disabilities.

Therapeutic riding combines instruction in traditional horsemanship skills that improve the strength, balance and self esteem of individuals with disabilities. Ride On serves 170 disabled riders on a weekly basis at two locations- Chatsworth and Newbury Park.

"This is the sixth year Mr. Murdock has graciously opened his home and his ranch to Ride On. This wonderful afternoon showcases our riders and the very special horses that help them in so many ways. Mr. Murdock's generosity allows 100 percent of every dollar raised at this event to help these inspiring riders," said Bryan McQueeney, Ride On's executive director.

The event starts at 3 p.m. with cocktails, a silent auction and raffle. Cost is $150 per person, including dinner. For information, call Sara Jones at (805) 375-9078.
