B'nai B'rith to honor firefighters

In recognition of the efforts of local fire departments in protecting homes during last year's wildfires, the Haverim B'nai B'rith unit will present a plaque in recognition of firefighters' service to the community.

The presentation will be made during the unit's 7:30 p.m. meeting on Mon., Sept. 18 at Temple Adat Elohim, Thousand Oaks.

Haverim B'nai B'rith is active in the community. Members run a program to feed the homeless and

recently presented three local students with $500 college scholarships. The unit is working to establish a senior affordable housing project in Thousand Oaks.
