Hurricane victims thank Calvary Church for support

Calvary Community Church in Westlake Village welcomed visitors from Biloxi, Miss. last weekend, Sat. and Sun., Aug. 26 and 27. The guests attended services to thank the congregation for all the support provided since the Hurricane Katrina disaster.

The Calvary congregation gave more than $200,000 in donations and made 18 trips by church members on behalf of helping hurricane victims.

The church continues to be active in helping residents of the Gulf Coast to rebuild their lives, and hopes to send additional teams to the area for at least two more years.

In other news, the church gathered and donated about 7,000 pairs of shoes from its congregants and sent them to underprivileged children and adults in Kampala, Uganda.
