First Time Homebuyer Seminar Is Scheduled For August

Ready to take the leap from renting to owning your first home but are confused by the process? Need help planning for home ownership?

Alan Ching, senior loan officer at Troxler & Associates, may be able to help. He will conduct a free First Time Homebuyer Seminar at 7 p.m. Wed., Aug. 30 at the firm's Calabasas office, 5023 N. Parkway.

Worksheets and other useful information for the first time homebuyer will be handed out and refreshments will be served. There will be no sales

pitch or real estate agents, just good information from an expert in the mortgage industry.

Ching first began conducting these seminars when a friend asked if he would talk to her sons, both in their twenties, about how to go about getting into their first homes.

"She asked how much I would charge for my time. I said, 'I'd be happy to do it for free.' First I made new friends, then new clients. That's how the seminars evolved," said Ching.

A full array of topics will be covered, including information on special home loan programs for the first time buyer, how credit scoring is used, tax advantages of home ownership and how to simplify the mortgage and closing process.
