Confusion over speed zones In regard to the July 27 letter from Jamie Hamilton of Westlake Village, I can certainly relate as I was given a speeding ticket on July 17 in the same area. I have been driving for 56 years and never received a speeding ticket. But I agree with Ms. Hamilton that if the area had been clearly marked as to where the construction started, I would certainly not have received the ticket. I am always conscientious about the speed zones. Having traveled this road many, many times, I am familiar with the 45 mph speed limit, but the signs were very misleading. About a mile or two down the road on Thousand Oaks Boulevard, where the construction wasn't in effect and the speed limit is 45 mph, I encountered a young fellow speeding, probably going 60 mph and then making an illegal left hand turn, almost hitting another vehicle-but of course, not a cop in sight. They were all on Thousand Oaks Boulevard between Westlake High School and Lindero Canyon Road ticketing those persons who were unfamiliar where the 25 mph speed zone started and ended.
