The Calabasas Chamber of Commerce will host a luncheon from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Thurs., Aug. 24 at the Calabasas Inn, 23500 Park Sorrento, Calabasas.

The event's topic is "The Valley's Economy: Is It Cooking, Cooling or Just Right?"

Guest speakers are Bruce Ackerman, president and CEO of the Economic Alliance of the San Fernando Valley, and Dr. Daniel Blake, professor of economics and director of the SFV Economic Research Center, Cal State Northridge.

Critically important research data that is pertinent to local business will be provided, according to the Chamber.

Admission is $25 for members, and $30 for nonmembers and those without reservations.
